Copy Reservation (by popular demand!)
We’ve made an exciting improvement to the copy reservation functionality. In the past when a reservation was copied, the system automatically attached the same Rate Plan to the new reservation that was used on the old reservation. If the user didn’t know to change it in the new reservation, the guest would get old rates for their stay. Now, when a reservation is copied, the Rate Plan will default to “Auto Assigned”.

Tent Site length and width details for KOA.com
K2 is responsible for providing KOA.com information that’s used in the Pricing Group listings. It was reported that guests were getting confused about the terminology used with Tent sites in regards to the width and length of the site pad. We have updated the information we send to KOA.com to help clarify.
Guest Search
We recently made some changes to the Guest search to make it more like the search on the Home page. These changes have had mixed reviews. We continually strive to make our search efficient, meaning when you type in search terms, you shouldn’t have to wait a long time to get results and the results you do get should be relevant. Below are some examples that will provide some clarification.
The best search is the simple First Name Last Name Zip. Do not use commas or other special characters. Note that the search terms you entered in the search field are shown below the field with “Showing results for: ….” This will help you see how the search tool recognized your search terms.
First Name Last Name is also a good search too, however, it will take slightly longer when the zip code is not included. Again, do not use commas or other special characters.
You can reverse the order of the First Name and Last Name. This would be the ONE exception to not using special character between the search terms. By adding the comma in this case, it will help the search tool recognize which name is the first name and which is the last.
Another search method is Last Name Zip/Postal code. This is a broader search that will look for the last name in the ZIP/Postal code you provided. If you’re using the last name SMITH, you may end up with pages of search results. For Canadian postal codes, there should be no space in between the first three characters and the last 3 characters.
Another search option will allow you to search for multiple First Name and Last Name. Note: do not use a space for compound names such as MacDonald. (no space between Mac and Donald).
We’ve added the Advanced search options to Guest search to help you define what you’re searching for. Start by typing the search term into the box. Select the Advanced search option down-arrow and select which type of data you’re searching for. The benefit of using this tool is that you are identifying exactly what type of data you’re looking for which cuts down on the amount of time the search tool takes to find your search term. In this example, we’re looking for the last name Musk.
We’ve also included the search Shortcuts. Like the Advanced search options, Shortcuts allow you to identify the specific kind of data you’re using for your search which will produce quicker and more accurate results. The example below was a search on the email address. Remember to include the full email address. A search cannot be done on a partial email address.
In the future, the number of characters for a KOA Rewards card will expand to 10 characters (numbers and letters) to accommodate future growth of the program. Since Rewards account numbers will be 10 characters and phone numbers are 10 characters, you will need to identify which you’re looking for. The easiest way is by using the Shortcut. Note: do not use a space between the Shortcut and the search term.
When searching for a guest by phone number, do not use dashes, spaces, or parentheses.
KOA Rewards
Work continues on the KOA Rewards project as we prepare to move the programming off of the old KampSight system onto the new platform. Our work has been laid out into seven different milestones which allow the development team to focus on individual parts of the whole picture. From now until it’s released, KOA Rewards will take up most of our development bandwidth.
